Watermart Whole Home Water Systems

It was a very pleasant experience and I feel that your staff really cares about your clients. I have a high level of respect and trust for your company and would highly recommend you to anyone looking for better water in their home or business. Dave, I just want to mention that Ron did a wonderful job installing the filter and softener. He was very professional and friendly and the pipe runs were logical and tidy. He also placed the units in my preferred location. All in all I am very satisfied with the install |
Watermart Water Softening Systems
A good tip:
"Having worked as a water softener installer and service technician for over 10 years, my preferred brand by far is Fleck. They are the oldest company in the industry (although most often privately labeled), installation is a snap, and virtually nothing ever goes wrong. Although Watermart carries virtually all makes and models, given the choice I will always choose Fleck."

Less water. No hassle. Long, long life. The Watermart / Fleck 7000 Digital Softening System is our most popular water softener. It incorporates more than 50 years of softening system advances. The Fleck 7000 control head is “smart” – it knows exactly when to clean itself and uses a minimum amount of water to do it. The cleaning process is also much more intense than other models - this ensures that the system will always be “like new”. Finally, the electronic controls incorporate an internal, self-charging battery. This means that regardless of power outages, once the system is set up, you never have to think about it again. All components are Certified by the National Sanitation Foundation and the system comes with a comprehensive, hassle-free warranty. |

The most widely used softener in the world. The Watermart / Fleck 5600 Econominder Softening System comes with the most widely used control head in the world – the Fleck 5600. This ensures a long, maintenance free life (some of our clients have had their systems for over 15 years!). The system is extremely efficient, using a fraction of the water and salt for operation as other models. Also, it will only regenerate itself when you are at home – in other words, when you are on vacation, it is not pointlessly wasting water. This is a great option for those who value reliability and economy. All components are Certified by the National Sanitation Foundation and the system comes with a comprehensive, hassle-free warranty.

"Salt-free" water softenersOver the past couple of years, many companies have been advertising "No-salt water softening systems". This is, in fact, very misleading. We sell units like this too - but it needs to be clear what these systems offer. These units can be more accurately called; "scale prevention units" - not softeners. These salt-free scale prevention systems will not do the following:
However, these systems will do the following:

Watermart™ iron and sulfur filters
If you have iron or sulfur, read this! It can save you all kinds of $ and hassle! Iron and sulfur are the most frequently incorrectly treated water concerns!
- If you only have iron, a money saving tip here is that iron can often be treated by a softener alone - usually up to 2 mg/L. (This is a lot of iron - it will stain at only 0.3 mg/L. Don't spend money on an iron filter if you don't have to!)
- If you have iron staining and have a smaller space (such as a cottage or trailer) and either don't have room for a softener or don't want to use one, click here.
- If you have iron or iron in combination with sulfur, click here.
- If you only have sulfur, click here. (A tip is that sulfur can't be treated long term with a regular carbon filter - installing one will solve the problem only very temporarily).

You'll be amazed how much iron this cartridge removes! The Watermart™ "Big Blue" Iron Filter: Iron filtration on a smaller scale. This filter is designed to provide an easy and effective method of reducing iron from water, which greatly improves the taste. This cartridge also helps to eliminate the orange and brown stains often found in sinks, toilets, tubs and other plumbing fixtures. The Watermart "Big Blue" iron filter reduces the possibility of damage to pipes and water heaters and reduces up to 3 ppm dissolved iron. It adds no harmful chemicals to the water, making it completely safe for drinking water applications. It should be installed on the main cold water line after the pressure tank or water meter. For best results, pre-sediment and post-carbon treatment is recommended.

Iron filtration for homes (done the right way)
|
The most thorough way to remove iron and/or sulfur from your water. Period.Having handled iron issues for decades, on home installations, we've discovered a 3-tired approach works best. (We do realize that this is contrary to many of the systems out there that claim to do it all in one step - which, by the way, we sell as well). However, Nothing beats doing it right the first time: This solution will solve the problem perfectly. And it will last. The 3 steps:
This really is the right way to do it.

Destroy any bacteria, virus, cysts, fungus or algae. The Sterilight “PA” line of Ultraviolet Disinfection Systems are ideal for home or cottage use. They provide an economical way of treating water requiring a 99.99% reduction in bacteria and viruses. The controller provides a prominent display of disinfection status and remaining lamp life. Have a public space and need to meet the government regulations?Ultimate peace of mind - The Sterilight “SPV” Series carries NSF/ANSI Standard 55, Class A Certification – a standard that must be met by service providers such as nursing homes and hospitals. This system comes with the feature-laden Platinum™ controller coupled with the Flow-Pace™ UV intensity monitor. Also, the controller visually displays % UV intensity, remaining lamp life and total hours of operation. Using high-output, Sterilume™ low pressure germicidal UV lamps coupled with 316L stainless steel and axial flow reactors, the Platinum systems offer a compact installation footprint, yet provide high flows with continuously thorough disinfection

A note about water softeners that also remove chlorine (sometimes called "refiners" or "conditioners")
![]() |
Although we do sell these units, we try very hard to discourage their use. The reason: Chlorine is removed by using activated carbon (some would say “charcoal”). This material removes contaminants using a process called "adsorption” (adsorption means that contaminants get stuck in the pores and adhere to the surface of the carbon). Even if a system cleans itself out periodically, very little of these “stuck” contaminants come loose. This means that eventually ALL OF THE CARBON MUST BE REPLACED! (Average lifespan of carbon in a system is 3 or 4 years – don’t let any sales person tell you otherwise!) Water softening resin; however, will usually last 10 to 15 years. So if you have a system that uses carbon mixed with resin, this means that every 3 or 4 years you’ll have to remove all the material and refill it. This usually runs around $400.00 to $500.00 including parts and labour. Companies will give long warranties figuring that you’ll probably move or not notice or that they won’t be around when the carbon is exhausted – it’s a good business risk to them. But it doesn’t make sense for the consumer. Water softeners should be used to soften water. And carbon filters should be used to filter water. |
